# Willems WeerWachter

"Willem's weather watcher": a personal ASP.NET service from the WMIT era that watched the Dutch coast for kite-surfing weather. It fetched KNMI forecasts and getij.nl tide tables for IJmuiden (IJMDBTHVN), combined wind and tide into a kite forecast (`KiteForecast`, `Forecaster`) and served the verdict at kite.wmit.nl.

A small piece of personal infrastructure from before smartphone weather apps: the question "is it worth driving to the beach after work?" answered by ones own server.

## Status: as is

Released as a historical artifact in 2026, unmaintained. The KNMI and getij.nl URLs it scraped have long since changed shape; it targets the .NET Framework of its day and is published for reading, not building.
